Mechanical Engineer

To be responsible for assisting in the provision of a quality, efficient, responsive, flexible & effective estates service to the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust working as part of the Estates Department Team.

Routine fault finding, testing, manufacturing, replacing, isolation, modifying, inspecting, improving, installing, maintaining and repairing of all mechanical services, plant and equipment in compliance with all good practice guides, operational maintenance manuals and statutory requirements. Be proactive with regard to all forms of maintenance, good site husbandry and security. Working to specifications and drawings, responsible for ensuring completion minimising waste within set dates and times.

Job responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen to join our well-established, dynamic and experienced mechanical team in providing an effective and efficient maintenance package of our wide-ranging building services, including planned and reactive maintenance, alterations and installation of engineering services, equipment and fixtures maintained by our Estates Department.

You will work on a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment across all areas within the Trusts estate. This will require the individual to possess a fully skilled, self-motivated and proactive ability working safely but effectively as a valued member of the mechanical team.

You should be apprentice trained or hold a level 3 related qualification in a suitable mechanical discipline and have a good demonstratable knowledge within this field and be someone that takes pride in their work.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the team ensuring that the Trusts Visions and Values are maintained at all times, focusing on engineering excellence, integrity and support for the wider Estates team.

We are looking for a fully skilled and qualified mechanical tradesperson to join our team based at the Royal Devon in Exeter with a salary of £27,485 - £30,162, with an additional long-term retention and recruitment premia (RRP) of £3277 pro-rata per annum, there will also be the opportunity for overtime and callout payments.

Working Pattern: 0800-1600 5 day working week
