Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Woking is seeking a talented Design Engineer to take ownership of projects from concept to manufacture and delivery. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in mechanical design, strong skills in sheet-metal and fabrication, and the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings. Experience in aviation or rail and knowledge of Autodesk Inventor are preferred. Competitive salary and full-time permanent role offered.

Design Engineer (Mid-weight)

We’re seeking a talented Design Engineer to take ownership of projects from concept through to manufacture and delivery. You’ll be designing a range of access platforms and ground support equipment , using your technical expertise and practical mindset to create reliable, manufacturable solutions.

What you’ll bring :

• 3+ years’ experience in mechanical / design engineering with proven project delivery.
• Strong sheet-metal and fabrication design skills, with an understanding of welding, tolerancing, and manufacturability.
• Ability to design structural assemblies and produce high-quality technical drawings.

Desirable skills :

• Experience in aviation, rail, or ground support equipment (GSE) .
• Experience using Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD)
• Basic FEA understanding for design verification.
• Familiarity with fabrication standards and site / production support.
