Job summary

Interaction - York is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to inspect and service vehicles across multiple sites. You will follow established inspection procedures and report findings using a PDA template.

Regular travel within the region is required, with longer trips as needed. A full UK driving licence and NVQ Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance are essential. Hours are 8.15am-5.45pm Wed-Sun or Sat-Wed.

Qualifications

• Possess NVQ Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
• Solid mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of vehicle diagnostics and software updates; EV/Hybrid knowledge advantageous.
• Good written communication and ability to interact at all levels.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections following established procedures and report findings via PDA templates.
• Complete used vehicle condition reports.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain daily site inspections.
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high quality service delivery.
• Travel to BCA sites within the region; longer trips as needed.

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

£13.99 per hour (£30,917.90k annually) plus bonus (OTE around £35k)

Hours - 8.15am-5.45pm Wednesday to Sunday OR Saturday to Wednesday

As a Vehicle Inspector, you'll be responsible for:

• Conducting vehicle inspections following established procedures, reporting findings via a PDA report template
• Complete used vehicle condition reports
• Collaborate with team members to maintain daily site inspections
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high quality service delivery
• Travel to various BCA sites within your agreed region will be regular, however, travel to further distances will be expected if and when needed

What we're looking for

To excel in this role, you must have:

• An NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• Comprehensive mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
• An understanding of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and electric/hybrid vehicles (advantageous)
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels
• A full UK driving licence
