Job summary

Interaction - York is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to inspect vehicles, document findings, and complete condition reports for used vehicles. You will join a team responsible for daily site inspections and high-quality service delivery, reporting via PDA templates.

The role requires a valid UK driving licence, strong mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with diagnostics and software updates. EV/hybrid awareness is advantageous for this position in the UK.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and electric/hybrid vehicles (advantageous).
• Strong written communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections following established procedures, reporting findings via a PDA report template.
• Complete used vehicle condition reports.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain daily site inspections.
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high quality service delivery.
• Travel to various BCA sites within your region; regular, with potential longer distances as needed.

Job description

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

£13.99 per hour (£30,917.90k annually) plus bonus (OTE around £35k)

Hours - 8.15am-5.45pm Wednesday to Sunday OR Saturday to Wednesday

As a Vehicle Inspector, you'll be responsible for:

• Conducting vehicle inspections following established procedures, reporting findings via a PDA report template
• Complete used vehicle condition reports
• Collaborate with team members to maintain daily site inspections
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high quality service delivery
• Travel to various BCA sites within your agreed region will be regular, however, travel to further distances will be expected if and when needed

What we're looking for

To excel in this role, you must have:

• An NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• Comprehensive mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
• An understanding of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and electric/hybrid vehicles (advantageous)
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels
• A full UK driving licence
