Material Operations Manager Job Redditch Worcestershire

A leading aerospace and defense manufacturing facility in Redditch Worcestershire is seeking an experienced Material Operations Manager to join its team. This advanced site is known for engineering precision components that support mission-critical conveyance systems for some of the worlds most sophisticated aircraft. The Material Operations Manager job in Redditch will oversee internal materials management and short-term production scheduling ensuring alignment with the Master Production Schedule through a robust Sales Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process. This is a pivotal leadership job shaping the flow of materials and driving operational performance across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead short-term production scheduling in line with Sales & Operations Execution (SOE) processes.
• Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting and strong data integrity.
• Manage the movement, storage and internal distribution of materials.
• Oversee logistics activities including receipts, transportation and site-level distribution.
• Administer indirect and MRO purchasing in accordance with organizational standards.
• Escalate material availability issues and drive schedule execution.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives including lean methodologies.
• Maintain target inventory levels and achieve On-Time Delivery goals.
• Control freight costs while supporting delivery performance.
• Safeguard data health across plant-owned systems.
• Act as the primary escalation point for SIOP execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years experience in Materials Operations or Supply Chain Management in manufacturing.
• At least three years of team management experience.
