Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in the UK is searching for an experienced Material Controller in Luton pay £21-£22 per hour. The ideal candidate will possess a background in aerospace or engineering and will demonstrate proficiency in SAP and Teamcenter, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. This is a temporary position with a Monday to Friday work schedule, totaling 37 hours per week, and may extend beyond the initial six-month period.

Job description
Material Controller / Luton / £21-£22 per hour

Are you an experienced Material Controller with a background in aerospace or engineering? Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a highly organised and technically capable individual to join their team and support the delivery of complex products to schedule.

We're looking for someone who understands engineering operations – from interpreting drawings and Bills of Materials (BoMs) to managing route cards and production orders in SAP.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage materials across the manufacturing chain to meet build standards and production schedules.
  • Expedite internal production items and provide accurate progress updates.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Use SAP and Teamcenter to ensure production orders reflect the latest specifications.
  • Attend MRB meetings and implement actions to resolve material issues.
  • Support kit delivery across manufacturing and engineering areas.
Ideal person:
  • A background in aerospace or engineering, ideally with hands‑on experience in production environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BoMs.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP and Teamcenter.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving and continuous improvement focus.
  • Awareness of ESD and FOD is advantageous.

This is a 6 month temporary position with the potential to extend.

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
