In this role, you will be at the forefront of how we communicate across the global defence, aerospace and maritime sectors. You will shape the narratives that inform our teams, engage our customers, and strengthen our position as a trusted partner to naval and defence communities worldwide. From supporting strategic programmes to elevating our presence at major international defence exhibitions, this is a varied, hands‑on role ideal for a proactive communicator with a passion for delivering clear, authoritative and mission‑focused messaging.
Based in Staffordshire—with hybrid and flexible working—the role will also support U.S. operations on the east coast, helping ensure alignment across international portfolios.
Develop and deliver global communications strategies aligned with major defence programmes, capability roadmaps, and international customer requirements.
Partner with Business Development, Engineering, Programmes, and Product Management to ensure consistent, mission‑focused messaging across all channels.
Work with leadership and technical authorities to articulate complex capability and system‑level value propositions across naval, aerospace and wider defence domains.
Produce high‑quality content including capability brochures, white papers, system technical narratives, case studies, and multimedia assets tailored for defence audiences.
Support the launch of new products, technologies, and platform integrations across maritime, subsea, and mission‑critical systems.
Act as a key liaison for defence and trade media outlets, coordinating interviews, thought‑leadership pieces, press releases, and commentary.
Oversee engagement with industry bodies including ADS, SMI, IMarEST and relevant defence clusters.
Strengthen our digital presence across defence‑focused audiences through targeted campaigns and strategic channel use (LinkedIn, website, specialist defence platforms).
Evaluate digital performance using analytics, CRM tools, and internal reporting to continually refine outreach and engagement.
Create targeted communications for key defence stakeholders, including the MOD, NCHQ, SDA, allied international MoDs, prime contractors, OEMs and integrators.
Ensure compliance with export controls, ITAR/EAR requirements, and defence security regulations across all communications outputs.
Lead the planning and delivery of internal and external events, including naval delegations, defence exhibitions, capability demos, factory visits, supplier forums and recruitment events.
Own event branding, messaging and collateral to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and customer expectations.
Support senior leadership with briefing materials, speeches, presentations, and customer‑facing content.
Develop and manage an internal communications strategy that reflects our mission, values and operational priorities.
Maintain an engaging intranet and produce compelling internal content including newsletters, updates, leadership communications and team stories.
Enhance internal documentation and presentations to ensure clarity, professionalism and brand alignment.
