Job summary

A specialist recruitment agency in the UK is looking for an experienced Welding / Fabrication Foreman to supervise welding and fabrication activities in Avonmouth. The role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in marine or civil engineering and involves managing personnel and ensuring adherence to safety and procedural standards. Candidates must possess strong organisational and leadership skills, along with a full UK driving licence. The position offers a competitive salary of £40 - £49K plus overtime for emergency response work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in marine or civil engineering.
  • Proven experience supervising personnel and managing work output and quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor welding and fabrication work to ensure quality, safety and procedural compliance.
  • Manage labour, materials, consumables and equipment in line with job requirements and budgets.
  • Report job progress and any cost or programme risks to management.
  • Ensure RAMS, permits to work and safe systems are in place and followed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, timekeeping, conduct and control of tools and equipment.
  • Support procurement of materials and attend site surveys and quotation activities when required.
  • Be available for on-call or emergency response as required.
