Job description

We are looking for motivated and hands‑on Manufacturing Technician to join a team based in Leeds. This Manufacturing Technician role is ideal for someone at an early stage of their career who is keen to gain practical experience in a manufacturing and R&D environment, or who can bring experience from a similar setting. As a Manufacturing Technician, you will support production activities, assist with equipment preparation, and help maintain organised and safe workspaces. This is role is initially a temporary contract, with the potential to become permanent dependent on performance!

Roles & Responsibilities of Manufacturing Technician:
  • Assisting with the assembly of robotic systems and related equipment
  • Preparing materials and cutting conductors for testing and product samples
  • Cleaning and maintaining manufacturing machinery and tools
  • Organising, labelling, and storing parts and materials
  • Supporting the packing, transport, and setup of equipment for testing and deployment
  • Assisting engineers during lab tests and prototype builds
  • Keeping basic records of parts usage and equipment checks
  • Following health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements
  • Taking part in workplace organisation and continuous improvement activities
Qualifications & Experience Required from Manufacturing Technician:
  • An interest or some exposure to manufacturing, production, or workshop environments and be keen to learn and follow instructions accurately.
  • Be practical, reliable, and well organised, with good attention to detail and a positive attitude toward hands‑on work.
  • Experience with hand tools, workshop equipment, mechanical or electrical systems, or site‑based work is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • This role is based at the Leeds manufacturing site, with the ability to travel to a second local site.
