Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Redditch is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience, strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, and proficiency in CAD tools like Siemens NX and Catia. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct project plans updates and risk reviews.

Job Specification: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Redditch, UK

Contract Length: 12 Months

Working Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Rate: £30-35 (Outside IR35) - Maximum

Work Experience & Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of hands‑on experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Aerospace QMS / Automotive quality requirements, including:
    • AS9100
    • OSHAS
    • TS 16949
    • Various ISO certifications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, drafting, special processes, CAD/CAM, and process planning.
Job Requirements & Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Process Engineering
  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and support functions.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, technical instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Knowledge of NDT (Non‑Destructive Testing) and special process techniques.
  • Support product design understanding and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Interpret and analyze engineering drawings/models to extract key process requirements.
  • Conduct drawing review processes with suppliers to identify critical process aspects.
Quality & Compliance
  • Knowledge of FAIR, Quality Inspection Plans, and other Manufacturing Engineering (ME) activities.
  • Awareness of aerospace engine products and associated materials.
  • Understanding of PFMEA, Control Plans, and Zero Defects methodology.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work with interfacing teams, local experts, partners, and suppliers to ensure alignment on technical manufacturing requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and technology enhancements.
Project & Data Analysis
  • Update and monitor project plans, support recovery planning, conduct risk reviews, and provide accurate reporting.
  • Support process capability analysis using Minitab.
  • Assist in manufacturing changes, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
Tooling & Equipment
  • Knowledge of measurement equipment, inspection tools, and fixtures relevant to manufacturing environments.
Software & Computer Skills
  • MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project.
  • CAD Tools: Siemens NX (UG), Catia.
  • PLM Systems: Teamcenter.
  • Statistical Analysis Tool: Minitab.
