Job description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer on an initial 12-month contract.

The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on driving continuous improvement into the industrial system to optimise wing manufacture, and ensuring on time, on cost wing delivery.

Monday - Friday 35 hours per week, 12 months

Responsibilities
  • Provide support for technical issues & continuous improvement
  • Involve the support functions roles in the continuous improvement routines of the production team.
  • Support capacity management and design consultation.
  • Execution of robust, reliable and safe operations and working closely with the production teams.
  • Analysing and optimising existing manufacturing systems.
  • Defining component/part for new jigs & tools definition.
  • Developing and deploying capability on new product introduction.
  • Defining build process for ME and introducing manufacturing best practices
Essential Skills
  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar field) preferable
  • Or equivalent HND / HNC or NVQ qualification in Engineering preferable
  • 3+ years of experience in the aerospace or automotive industry and manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of industrial processes and standards within the aerospace industry desirable
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and change in complex manufacturing environments
  • Proactive approach to driving efficiency and resolving production issues
