Job summary

A well-established engineering company in Greater London is seeking a Manual / CNC Machinist to join their team. In this permanent role, you will produce high-quality precision components using various manual and CNC machines. Attention to detail and prior experience with machine tools are critical. The company offers training in specialized processes, making it an excellent opportunity for development. This position is fully on-site, providing a hands-on engineering environment.

Manual / CNC Machinist - Permanent

Up to £37,000/annum - 25 + 8 days holiday (plus purchase up to 5 days)

Monday to Friday - early finish Friday, fully on-site

A well established leader in their field are looking for a hands‑on permanent machinist who enjoys solving mechanical problems and producing high‑quality precision components.

Manual / CNC Machinist is required to join a specialist engineering operation that focuses on the repair and refurbishment of blower and vacuum pump systems.

You'll work with a variety of manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills and grinders, producing precision parts to exacting standards. Measurement accuracy is critical, and you'll regularly use imperial metrology equipment to ensure quality and consistency.

You'll also have the opportunity to develop additional skills, with training provided in thermal spraying and welding.

Person and experience:
  • A time‑served apprenticeship or vocational qualification
  • Practical experience with machine tools or mechanical assemblies
  • Confidence working with imperial measurements
  • Someone proactive, detail‑focused and motivated by problem‑solving
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and safety
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Maths & basic computer literacy
  • Ability to lift up to 25Kg and perform repetitive tasks

This is a highly practical, hands‑on engineering environment, great training provided for additional specialist processes offering varied and technically interesting repair projects.
