Overview

Are you a proactive finance professional looking to take the next step in your career? We're on the hunt for a dynamic Management Accountant to join a busy Head Office finance team in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the financial operations of a large and successful organisation, supporting both UK and Republic of Ireland activities.

Why This Role? This isn’t just about crunching numbers. As part of a collaborative finance team, you'll deliver accurate, insightful management accounts and help shape strategic decisions. You'll partner with colleagues across the business to drive improvements, streamline processes and ensure robust financial control.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and reporting packs) with clear variance analysis
• Monitoring and forecasting working cashflow to support liquidity
• Ensuring compliance with VAT, ONS, and Intrastat returns
• Supporting all areas of the finance function including Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Expenditure
• Reviewing and maintaining sensitive nominal codes across P&L and Balance Sheet
• Posting journals and assisting with budgeting and reforecasting
• Ensuring timely and accurate bank reconciliations
• Overseeing supplier and employee payments
• Assisting with fixed asset management and depreciation
• Partnering with teams across the business to provide financial insight
• Reviewing and challenging monthly accruals
• Contributing to projects aimed at streamlining processes
• Supporting year-end audit preparation and other ad hoc tasks
