Job description

Experienced in care? Looking for something new? Then this is a great opportunity to work independently whilst promoting the independence of a gentleman we support.

Drivers preferable due to the people we support wanting to go out.

You will be supporting a 64 year old male with learning disabilities and autism. He loves people watching, he is very playful when you get to know him, but the ideal candidate must be able to take a joke as he likes to make fun and take jabs but it's all in good fun! He has a pet rabbit named Popeye who is his pride and joy.

He loves all sports such as football and rugby and likes to go into Penzance arcades to play on the 2p machines.

The ideal candidate must have experience in Positive Behaviour Support Practices and person-led practices.

2:1 support in the community.

We are looking for someone who can be trusted to act with their own integrity and provide incredible and meaningful support, building a trusting and long lasting rapport with a gentleman in Penzance. This can be a challenging role at times, especially as it involves lone working, but if you want that challenge then this is offset with some truly inspirational moments where you can say 'I did that'.

If you're new to care then this is also a great chance to be a part of something from the ground up. As a new service in the Penzance area we are looking for fresh ideas, fresh talent and fresh passion. Someone that wants to be there and learn what making a real difference looks and feels like. You will be supported with great training and work alongside a team that wants to provide the very best care for the people we support. As well as that there is opportunity for progression and personal growth where you can learn and develop skills you never thought you had.

Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. In this context, "gender" refers to the sex legally assigned to an individual.

UK Driving License is essential for this role.
