A care support organization in Loughton seeks a committed individual to assist a client with acquired brain injuries in daily activities. The role involves encouraging independence through support with tasks like budgeting and outings, as well as collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care. Previous care experience and strong communication skills are essential for this rewarding opportunity.
Garry is in his early thirties and lives independently in his own home. Several years ago, Garry sustained a traumatic brain injury following a road traffic accident. As a result, he requires structured support with planning, organising, budgeting, shopping, and managing day-to-day household tasks.
Garry is a positive and joyful individual who thrives on encouragement and gentle motivation. While he enjoys engaging with others and has a warm, upbeat nature, he can struggle with low motivation and benefits from consistent prompting to complete tasks and maintain routines. The role involves supporting Garry in his daily activities, which may include accompanying him to the gym or other appropriate outings that promote wellbeing and independence.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and report directly to the case manager, contributing to care planning and ensuring that Garry receives high-quality, person‑centred support. Experience in supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries is desirable, and a proactive, empathetic approach is essential.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life, helping them build confidence and live more fully within their community.
