Role Overview

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Oakthorpe Dairy site and provide critical engineering and maintenance support across our production lines.


Background

Arla Oakthorpe has received £10 million of investment with more on the horizon. This investment has funded a state‑of‑the‑art Krones filling line and office revamp. On average our Oakthorpe dairy produces 800,000 litres of milk per day, which is around 200 million litres yearly.


Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot and diagnose breakdowns using structured problem solving techniques and drive continuous improvement to improve operational efficiencies.

  • Champion health and safety by adhering to safety standards, SOPs and participating in risk assessment.

  • Support and lean into projects across the site, both small and large, actively inputting to site development and performance.

  • Provide critical breakdown support across a complex 24/7 production site from conveyors through to fully automated milk filling and packing equipment.

  • Carry out planned, preventative maintenance and servicing activities as planned via CMMS.


Qualifications


  • Experience in an FMCG, Food or regulated manufacturing environment, working at pace in a maintenance engineer or similar.

  • Time served/apprentice trained as an electrical, mechanical or multiskilled engineer, qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 / ONC or higher.

  • Structured problem solving experience, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and fault finding.

  • Computer literate with SAP PM or similar CMMS system, Microsoft Office.
