Job summary

A global manufacturer in Dudley is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills to join their team in a three-shift role. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and experience with preventative and reactive maintenance. This role offers up to £24.03 per hour plus OTE and involves managing machine breakdowns, conducting maintenance, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Completed an Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship or hold a relevant engineering qualification.
  • Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
  • Minimum qualification of 17th Edition Wiring Regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform thorough electrical and mechanical fault-finding.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure machinery remains safe and fully operational.
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, identify root causes, and carry out corrective actions.
  • Manage and maintain the maintenance stores inventory.

A global manufacturer in the Dudley area is looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical history to join their team on a three-shift pattern

The ideal candidate will be a hard-working and adaptable Engineer with a strong technical background within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will report to the Maintenance Team Leader and provide planned, preventative maintenance expertise along with responses to reactive breakdowns

Role : Maintenance Engineer

Location : Dudley area

Salary : Up to £24.03 per hour + OTE

Shift : Three-shift pattern

The key responsibilities of the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer role will be :

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform thorough electrical and mechanical fault-finding to identify and resolve issues.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure all machinery remains safe and fully operational for production.
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, identify root causes, and carry out corrective actions where possible. Escalate issues immediately if they cannot be resolved.
  • Ensure all machines are left in a safe condition. If maintenance cannot be completed, the machine and surrounding area must be securely cordoned off.
  • Follow safe systems of work at all times to prevent injuries and avoid damage to equipment, plant, or machinery.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and ensure any unfinished tasks are handed over correctly to the next shift.
  • Work across a three-shift pattern and provide flexibility to cover sickness, annual leave, or increased workload demands.
  • Respond appropriately to environmental incidents and participate in the emergency response team to secure plant, machinery, and equipment.
  • Manage and maintain the maintenance stores inventory.
  • Uphold 5S standards, keeping all work areas clean, organised, and free from unnecessary clutter.
  • Record completed work using maintenance system cards.
  • Complete preventative maintenance result sheets and carry out any necessary follow-up actions.

The key requirements of the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will be :

  • Completed an Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship or hold a relevant engineering qualification.
  • Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
  • Minimum qualification of 17th Edition Wiring Regulations is preferred.
