Take a hands‑on, supervisory working role when you join Signature Senior Lifestyle as the Maintenance Manager at our new luxury care and nursing home in Surbiton.
You'll be managing all functions within the Property & Maintenance Department to ensure that the property is maintained and kept in a high state of repair at all times, as well as making sure all Health and Safety measures are in place and adhered to.
Our residents are our focus at Signature, and their comfort and safety are paramount. You'll be a huge part of that! Your day‑to‑day activities will include making sure the physical surroundings of the home are well‑maintained and meet regulations, ensuring the residents are comfortable and safe.
Alongside the General Manager, you'll agree and constantly monitor all on‑site contractors and service contracts, controlling departmental costs whilst maintaining the standards you provide. You'll also help develop a site emergency contingency plan, in case of breakdowns or service interruption for gas, electricity, heating, waste, water and all utilities. And you'll be in charge of lighting, PAT Testing, keeping ventilation units and lights clean and working, monitoring water temperature control systems, and other ongoing regular maintenance. You'll also be in charge of mandatory staff training for Fire Prevention & Evacuation and Health and Safety processes, testing fire alarms and carrying our drills.
We are kind and compassionate. Positive and resilient. Proactive and organised. Honest and accountable. Passionate and keen to develop. If this sounds like you, you'll fit right in.
You're a friendly and professional maintenance operative with appropriate experience and relevant qualifications taking in minor electrical, plumbing and joinery work, and understanding of central heating systems. You've also got an excellent command of the English language, basic IT literacy, good problem‑solving skills, the ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure, and a clean driving licence.
