Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical

£35,000 per Annum

We are working with a world‑leading engineering company that prides itself on proving the highest quality bespoke products for the heavy plant industry, in the UK and globally.

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to provide mechanical maintenance for a wide range of CNC and specialist machinery.

This role will involve making repairs, reducing machinery down‑time and carrying out refurbishment of plant, equipment and machinery.

You will be investigating faults and reporting them where required, as well as carrying out planned preventive maintenance.

This organisation has two sites in Leicester and you will be required to work across both.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Thursday 06:00am – 14:30pm

Friday 06:00 – 11:30am

Salary: £35,000 per Annum

The Role

• Providing maintenance for a wide range of CNC and specialist machinery.
• Carrying out mechanical repairs to gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drive chains, pumps, and tanks.
• Manage and resolve reactive breakdown repairs.
• Carrying out the above to reduce downtimes to a minimum.
• As required, carry out major refurbishment of plant, equipment and machinery.
• PLC fault finding and interrogation.
• Investigate reported faults, identify causes and decide on the necessary actions to rectify.
• Planned preventive maintenance.
• Comply with legal requirements and work within company health and safety guidelines.
• Work across two Leicester-based sites.

About you

• Hold HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in an engineering environment.
• Experience of fault finding and repairing of CNC multi-axis machines.
• Conversant with Fanuc and Siemens controls.
• Conversant with present and emerging technology with up to date knowledge of equipment and techniques.
