A well-established manufacturing operation is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in Alfreton to maintain and repair production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime. This hands-on role requires a proactive engineer with strong fault-finding skills, a commitment to safe working practices, and experience in a manufacturing environment. The role includes planned preventative maintenance, handling equipment breakdowns, and implementing improvements. The position offers a salary of £40,400 and operates on a day shift basis.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Salary: £40,400

Hours: Day shift

A well-established manufacturing operation is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain and repair production equipment, ensuring maximum machine uptime. This is a hands-on, days-based role suited to a proactive engineer with strong fault-finding skills and a commitment to safe working practices.

The hours for this role are 6am‑2pm & 10am‑6pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with agreed schedules.
  • Provide first-line response to equipment breakdowns.
  • Fault find and repair extrusion lines, moulding machines, automated cells, ancillary equipment, and butt fusion equipment.
  • Complete mechanical and electrical maintenance work safely and efficiently.
  • Implement agreed improvement and modification work on capital equipment.
  • Record maintenance activities, downtime, and data using a CMMS system to support KPIs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and equipment reliability.
Skills & Experience
  • Time-served Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing maintenance role.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team with good communication skills.
