A leading food manufacturing company in York is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to enhance asset reliability and reduce downtime at their Confectionery Factory. Candidates should have an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in engineering. The role requires experience with automated processes and a strong background in maintenance within manufacturing, preferably in the FMCG sector. We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer, to join the team at our Confectionery Factory in York. The team's short term and long-term goals include introducing a long-term maintenance strategy and continually developing it. Increasing asset intensity and reducing stops, working towards being the best maintenance team in the UK.
The Maintenance Engineer Role is a specialist role within the engineering management team.
Nestlé York Factory in North Yorkshire is the home of the iconic confectionary brands; KitKat, Aero and Yorkie amongst several other well‑known brands such as Polo and Buttons. These are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packaging lines.
As the Maintenance Engineer your key objectives will be to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant performance. Using Nestlé’s factory systems, you will analyse data to identify unreliable equipment and strive to improve reliability through continuous improvement projects, implementation of TPM stream methodologies and root cause analysis. Across the departmental assets you will implement the factory maintenance strategy.
You will report directly to the Asset Maintenance Manager working closely with the maintenance planners and maintenance technicians to implement a strategy and robust maintenance plan for assets throughout the factory to increase reliability and improve asset intensity.
