The ideal candidate has NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance and strong skills in welding and fabrication. Maintenance Engineer.
Up to £53,000 per annum DOE.

Shepton Mallet.
5 on 5 off / 4 on 4 off – Permanent Nights.

We’re proud to be partnering with a world leading supplier of construction materials, in their search for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their high performing maintenance team.

The Role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the plant and site equipment operate at peak efficiency. From carrying out planned maintenance to responding swiftly to breakdowns, your expertise will help minimise downtime and keep production on track.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment, safeguarding asset capacity and value.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to unplanned repairs and breakdowns, ensuring temporary fixes are followed by permanent solutions.
  • Develop and implement safe working methods for all repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Carry out daily plant inspections, complete documentation, and report any issues promptly.
  • Provide training and support to operatives on maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor plant stoppages and ensure accurate breakdown logging.
  • Manage plant assets responsibly, ensuring efficient use of materials and equipment.
  • Work closely with site management to address daily operational issues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Time-served fitter with strong skills in welding, cutting, and fabrication.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement maintenance schedules.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and safe working practices.
  • IT literate with good organisational and time management skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a 24/7 operational environment.
