Job summary

A leading plastics manufacturer in the UK seeks a skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and performance of blow moulding and injection moulding machinery. You will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance tasks, as well as fault finding in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and PLC fault finding capabilities. This role offers competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth.

Job description

An established and highly respected plastics manufacturer in the Northwest is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its growing engineering team. With over 45 years of technical expertise in blow moulding and injection moulding, this business operates one of the most advanced plastics manufacturing facilities in the region, supporting automotive and other major industries.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of a wide range of blow moulding and injection moulding machinery.

Maintenance Engineer Benefits:

Maintenance Engineer Duties include:
  • Double Days (6-2 / 2-10)
  • Reactive and planned preventative maintenance across 40+ blow moulding and injection moulding machines
  • Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Supporting multi-axis (3D) and suction-blow moulding equipment
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Working closely with production teams and team leaders to maintain high productivity and quality standards
  • Supporting installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting audit requirements
Maintenance Engineer Requirements include:
  • Time-served maintenance engineer (Electrical)
  • Manufacturing experience
  • PLC fault finding
  • Blow-moulding experience (advantage)
  • Ability to work well with others and within a team
