Job description

Are you a practical person with an eye for detail? Are you looking for a hands-on role with variety?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a maintenance assistant to join our team. You will be ensuring the building fabrics, fixtures and fittings in all areas of the casino are maintained to a high standard and in safe, working order.

Key skills and responsibilities include:
  • Mechanical skills (small plumbing, drainage, toilet maintenance and repair).
  • Joinery skills (light carpentry).
  • Painting and decorating.
  • Completing regular repairs and general maintenance works.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Outlook and some light Excel use)
  • Keeping repair and maintenance records up to date for the casino.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Reporting building/machinery faults to management for escalation to the nominatedcontractor.
  • Reporting health and safety outages and where applicable fixing these with the view to preventing future occurrences.
  • Supporting the hospitality department with the deliveries and cleaning of catering equipment.
  • Liaising with third-party, nominated contractors when work cannot be self-delivered.
  • A team player with good communication skills.
  • A strong knowledge of safety standards.
  • The ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in working alone as well as part of a team.
  • Flexible with a positive attitude towards change.
  • Being flexible and able to work a variety of shifts including night shifts and weekends.
Desired skills, but not essential include:
  • IOSH Working Safely.
  • Legionella awareness.
  • IPAF/PASMA qualification.
  • Electrical qualification e.g. City & Guilds 2391, NVQ level 3 or 18th Edition.
  • First aid.
  • Familiarity with RAMS and relevance to site works where applicable.
