Mains Water Engineer

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 (DOE)

Hours of work: Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend and an option of overtime.

Water Mains Engineer Role:

This is a customer-facing role where you'll be responsible for independently investigating and repairing external water supply issues, using a combination of technical knowledge, practical experience, and a safety-first customer focused mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Independently investigating and repairing external water supplies to domestic and commercial properties.
• Accurately identifying leak locations and determining ownership and liability for repair works.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for excavation, pipefitting, and other tasks.
• Providing clear, reassuring communication to customers, explaining the work required and the process.
• Maintaining consistent and proactive communication with our Field Operations Team at HQ.

Required Experience and Skills

• Leak detection techniques, including use of listening sticks, ground microphones, or other acoustic equipment.
• Experience with find & fix water supply repairs.
• Familiarity with trenchless pipe installation (moling) - desirable but not essential.
• Ability to create new points of entry for water supplies into buildings.
• Skilled in using a CAT scanner to identify underground service pipes and cables.
• Proficiency in reinstating surfaces to a high standard, including paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, and concrete.
