Lung Cancer Screening Patient Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for patients and a vital link in ensuring the smooth running of the screening pathway
- Manage large volumes of data with precision
- Coordinate appointments and provide exceptional customer service to patients and colleagues
- Support the Trust with improvements in data capture within the Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) programme and organise and manage workload to meet competing demands and deadlines
- Respond to urgent requests while supporting the LCS team in other administrative duties as agreed with the LCS Responsible Assessor
- Communicate with patients, colleagues, and external providers through telephone, email and other mediums
- Operate SystemOne to verify registration and clinical details, update episodes with screening results, and make appointments in response to enquiries
- Receive, collate and compute requests for CT scans, liaising with members of staff regarding appointments
- Carry out daily and weekly quality checks and report discrepancies using the Trust’s incident recording systems
- Attend MDT meetings, take relevant meeting notes, and liaise with internal and external departments as required
- Adhere to Health and Safety Trust legislation and infection control policies and comply with all regulations governing Health and Safety at Work and Infection Prevention and Control
Additional Skills and Experience
- Deal with sensitive situations and manage communication methods accordingly
- Provide expertise and project co‑ordination to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of LCS data capture and quality
- Lead on specified work streams that support the improvement of LCS data and redesign processes requiring improvement
- Analyse working systems and existing processes within the LCS programme, addressing training and development requirements where necessary
- Operate SystemOne for patient registration, updating screening results, scheduling appointments and liaising with staff for CT scan requests
