Overview

Aston Education is looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join this Sixth Form College near Victoria station in Central London. Their Ofsted is Good with Outstanding features. The college has recently grown, welcoming a more diverse intake, including more young people aged 16‑19 with additional learning, social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with students who require additional support to reach their full potential.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment and provide one‑on‑one or small group support to students with SEND.
  • Assist in developing and implementing EHCP/LP, ensuring students receive the appropriate support and interventions.
  • Work as part of the SEND safeguarding team.
  • Assist with classroom activities, monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with other professionals.
  • Support students in exams as a reader or scribe.

Qualifications & Experience required
  • Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties (e.g., ASC, dyslexia, ADHD) or disabilities
  • Experience supporting learners in a further education/sixth form setting
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
  • Training related to SEN
  • Degree or HE qualification in Computer Science or Maths
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
