A healthcare staffing agency in the United Kingdom is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to provide direct nursing care in various settings. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities, all under the direction of registered nurses or physicians. Licensed health care practitioners provide direct nursing care to individuals in a variety of settings under the direction of a registered nurse, physician, or other licensed health care provider, in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law. Practitioners perform nursing care tasks and procedures consistent with individual treatment plans; administer medications as prescribed; observe and report individuals' responses to treatment and changes in health status; attend to individuals' personal needs, such as activities of daily living and hygiene tasks; and provide emotional support and health teaching to individuals.
Positions are classified in various State agencies. "Individual" refers to a person who is being treated or cared for, and is used in place of patient, client, or other nomenclature specific to an agency.
Under the direction of a registered nurse, physician, or other licensed health care provider, practitioners provide direct nursing care to individuals in accordance with Article 139 of the Education Law; and may supervise the activities of unlicensed direct care staff.
Open Competitive: Eligible for or possession of a license and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State.
