Job summary

A leading transportation company is seeking a dedicated truck driver to join their team in Surrey. The ideal candidate will have a Class 1 or A driver's license and the ability to operate large vehicles, alongside strong organizational skills. Responsibilities include planning routes, loading/unloading goods, and ensuring vehicle safety. The position offers a competitive salary of $36.60 per hour with 50 hours of work weekly. Must be authorized to work in Canada and available for immediate start.

Qualifications

  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A) required.
  • Experience driving straight or articulated trucks preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (13.5 kg).

Responsibilities

  • Plan or adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
  • Load and unload goods and materials.
  • Inspect vehicle condition and perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Ensure safety and security of cargo.

Responsibilities
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre‑trip, en route and post‑trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
