Qualifications

Job description

As we continue to grow, we are now strengthening our Purchasing team with a Logistics Manager in our Ipswich Head Office on a hybrid basis. Within this role, you will be responsible for:

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all orders are processed and delivered as required in accordance with purchasing procedures and corporate policy.
  • Preparing ships' order dates in line with the storing requirements of individual vessels, internal departments and warehouses.
  • Liaising with suppliers, hauliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations of moving containers around the world. This includes scheduling deliveries, preparing documentation and managing the inventory for longer cruises.
  • Working with Port Agents to ensure suitability for container placement & loading capabilities, local import restrictions, local certification.
  • Working with local supply chain worldwide to ensure they are safe and legal, we are achieving the best prices, and the service & quality is at the level we require.
  • Ensuring the purchasing system is populated and updated with critical information (itineraries, periods, and currencies as examples).
  • Controlling and maintaining accuracy of stocks within the warehouse.
  • Ensuring goods received to the warehouse are accurately checked and recorded into the purchasing system.
  • Providing feedback regarding supplier performance to assist with vendor management.
  • Day‑to‑day management of three Purchasing Assistants, providing clear, measurable goals and ongoing feedback.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in route planning, freight forwarding (air, ocean, road transport), shipment scheduling, tracking, and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with customs clearance procedures and goods movement procedures for import / export in line with DDP/ DAP/ T1.
  • Experience in placing purchase orders and processing invoices.
  • The ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A sense of urgency and an ability to adapt to changing work priorities.
  • Strong rapport‑building skills, particularly with suppliers and senior members of the business.
  • The ability to travel when required.

This is a permanent, full‑time role, working 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday on a hybrid basis.
