The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Logistics Department as a Logistics Assistant. In this role you will provide a cost effective Logistics solution to fully support LGE UK’s sales objectives. Working within a team providing support for Field Sales and Internal/External customers, ensuring all aspects of the business is being complete effectively.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Manage customer orders for Direct Delivery
- Schedule the arrival and quantities from LG factories in line with order book.
- Maximise the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods
- Monitoring and reporting on all movements.
- Work with Demand Planning’s & Sales Admin to maximise DD sales.
- Communicate with factories to control inbound haulage and elevate any issue.
- Plan direct delivery to customer including booking slot management
- Complete invoicing via IOD confirmation as part of the order fulfilment
- Maintain POD retrieval for all DD in order to reduce financial risk
- Plan LGEUK 3PL warehouse intake volumes
- Liaise with factory, 3PL, DP and sales for intake plan
- Maintain efficient import shipping records and database.
- Provide accurate lead time and delivery information to the related department
- Maximising direct deliveries by arranging monitoring and reporting; keep a constant vigil for all direct delivery possibility.
- Assist Inbound / Logistics manager where appropriate
- Any other departmental duties as requested by the manager
- Minimise inbound logistics cost such as demurrage, CY storage and freight costs.
- Maximise DD related cost saving for LGE
- Provide prompt and accurate product arrival information to Sales and DP
- Minimise delivery non conformance especially for customers with financial risk
- Continuous effort for business process streamline and waste elimination
- Develop innovative ideas and share best practice
Skills, Education & Experience
- Good overview of the commercial process, production planning and retail interface / order fulfilment.
- Ability to work assertively in a cross functional environment and attain consensus between all parties
- Strong analytical skills
- Logical common sense and proactive approach to business
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working in an SCM environment.
- Upper-intermediate knowledge of standard PC based Microsoft applications, in particular Excel
- Fluent understanding of verbal and written English.
