Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a temporary Logistics Administrator for a client in North Lanarkshire. Role Overview

Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Logistics Administrator for our client based in North Lanarkshire. This is a key temporary role, initially for 3 to 6 months, supporting the day‑to‑day operations of a busy depot. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to ensure smooth coordination between customers, the operations team, and internal departments. This position is central to service delivery, issue resolution, and maintaining operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, delivering a professional and responsive service.
  • Proactively manage and resolve issues relating to deliveries, delays, or discrepancies, keeping customers informed throughout.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails efficiently and professionally.
  • Liaise closely with depot staff to provide accurate updates on the status of customer goods.
  • Prepare and issue proof of delivery (POD) notes for collections and deliveries.
  • Process returned POD documentation, following up with drivers for any missing or incomplete paperwork.
  • Administer contract‑specific documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform data entry tasks across internal systems with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Raise Purchase Orders on behalf of the operations team when required.
  • Approve purchase invoices via the internal system, ensuring they match PO numbers and completion details.
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider depot team.
  • Adhere to company policies on quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Follow all site‑specific health and safety protocols.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in an administrative role within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to prioritise tasks effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience within logistics or depot operations is beneficial but not essential.
Offering

Salary: £27,040 per annum.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 or 09:00–18:00 (1-hour unpaid lunch).
