Job summary

A leading UK healthcare provider is seeking a Locum Consultant Neonatologist. The successful candidate will manage neonatal care for infants and participate in an on-call rota. Responsibilities include leading service developments, providing line management to trainees, and collaborating with health professionals. Qualifications include MBChB and MRCPCH, with experience in Neonatology required. This role offers flexibility in working full or part-time, with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of completing a period of approved training in Neonatology or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • The postholder will manage and take overall responsibility for neonatal care.
  • Participate in an on-call rota, shared among consultants.
  • Lead on service developments agreed with the consultant team.
  • Provide line management and support to trainee doctors.

Skills

Ability to perform the requirements of the post
Excellent organisational skills
Commitment to working cooperatively and collaboratively with other health professionals and organisations
Ability to work effectively in multi-professional teams
Outpatient experience in managing graduates from neonatal care
Experience of antenatal diagnosis and investigation
Experience of developing services through research
NLS instructor
Research experience
Formal training in developmental assessment

Education

MBChB or equivalent
MRCPCH (UK) or equivalent
