Join Our Dedicated Team as a Locum Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology

We are seeking a full-time Locum Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to strengthen our dynamic team and help reduce waiting times for gynaecology services. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on patient care while working in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

What the Role Involves:

  • Leading Two-Week Wait (2WW) Gynaecology Clinics, ensuring timely and compassionate care for patients.
  • Performing gynaecological surgery and contributing to high-quality outcomes in the operating theatre.
  • Delivering hysteroscopy services, enhancing diagnostic and treatment pathways.

You will join a collaborative team committed to excellence, innovation, and patient-centred care. This role offers the chance to work with experienced colleagues, access modern facilities, and contribute to service improvements that truly make a difference.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to contribute to the development of innovative pathways and work with the multidisciplinary team to manage the demands of the busy Service in close collaboration with the local and regional needs.

To build on the already-established pathways between all sites within the MSE Trust, to optimise patient pathways and support further development of the network.

Work with the multidisciplinary team to undertake a senior role in the general provision of Obstetric and Gynaecological Services at Basildon Hospital and MSE.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • MBBS or Equivalent
  • Completed MRCOG or equivalent.
  • MSc, MD, PhD, MA or Masters in Education or related discipline.
Experience
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist.
