University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a locum 7 PA Consultant ENT surgeon. The role is a 12‑month fixed term contract with a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education and training. The post is intended to be clinic heavy to support reducing time to first wait and will include work off‑site and require flexible working. The post holder must be in specialist register and, while there is no fixed theatre session, opportunities to cover theatre sessions arising from leave will be available. This provisional job plan is subject to agreement and change.
The consultant’s job plan is expected to comprise 7 programmed activities per week on average, to be carried out at the RNENT and satellite clinics at Edgware and Whittington. The new post‑holder will discuss and agree a detailed job plan, including personal and professional objectives, with the Clinical Director within three months of the start date. The consultant may be required to undertake a prospective diary exercise to inform this process. Of the 7 activities, 6 will be direct clinical care, including an on‑call commitment of 1 in 12; the remaining 1 will be a SPA. The DCC job plan follows a team‑based approach, with the part of the plan related to wider departmental activities, supporting professional activities and personal objectives more individually tailored.
