Job summary

Bowdon Associates Limited in Manchester seeks a Service Manager to lead day-to-day lift service and repairs, and deputise for the Service & Repairs Director. You will manage a field engineers team, oversee planned maintenance, call-outs and rapid responses to issues, and ensure work is delivered on time and to spec.

The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic input, requiring strong people management and knowledge of LOLER/BS 7255, plus the ability to drive KPIs while maintaining

Qualifications

• Experience leading a field-based engineering team.
• Solid knowledge of lift service, maintenance and repair.
• LOLER requirements and BS 7255 familiarity.
• Planning against SLAs and KPIs.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Run planned maintenance, call-outs and repairs to meet contracted visits and response times.
• Directly manage engineers; conduct 1:1s, PDRs, and performance reviews.
• Recruit engineers and assess technical ability and fit.
• Schedule approved repairs, ensure resources and timely invoicing.
• Follow up defects and LOLER findings until closed.
