Job summary

WSP UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Cost & Commercial Manager to join our Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM) in the Birmingham area. You will contribute to Life Cycle Costing and Whole Life Costing across pre- and post-contract stages, including estimating, cost planning, procurement, cost assurance and post-contract financial management.

Depending on seniority, you may lead a QS/Cost team, mentor staff, participate in bid writing, win work and represent WSP UK at

Qualifications

• MRICS is essential for the role.
• Familiarity with lifecycle costing and ISO 15686.5 principles.
• Experience developing lifecycle models from capex references.
• Knowledge of options studies to compare design options at various levels.
• Ability to write BREEAM reports.
• Experience in lifecycle plans from survey data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of QS/Cost and Commercial competencies.
• Senior-level project leadership and delivery experience where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver QS/commercial projects and lead a QS/Commercial team where required.
• Mentor staff, contribute to bid writing and winning work.
• Represent WSP UK at industry events as needed.
• Provide cost planning, procurement, cost assurance and post-contract financial management.
• Develop lifecycle models and lifecycle cost strategies for projects.
