Job summary

A local government council in Stratford-upon-Avon is looking for a Licensing Support Officer to handle administrative tasks associated with licensing applications. What to Expect in the Role:

As a Licensing Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Licensing Team. You can expect a varied and engaging workload, including processing applications, maintaining accurate records, responding to enquiries, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Council and external stakeholders, contributing to a high-performing service that supports local businesses and protects public interests. The role offers the opportunity to develop knowledge of licensing law and procedures, enhance administrative skills, and be part of a team that values professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities (Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details):
  • Provide administrative support for the processing of licensing applications, renewals, and amendments in accordance with statutory requirements and Council procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases, ensuring timely updates and effective document management.
  • Respond to enquiries from applicants, businesses, members of the public, parish councillors and councillors offering clear guidance and excellent customer service.

  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Be confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting team priorities and service delivery.
