Job summary

Hertfordshire Libraries are recruiting a Customer Service Assistant in Hemel Hempstead. The role focuses on delivering high-quality customer service, IT support and information services to library users, with duties including issuing and returning books and maintaining shelves.

You will work in a friendly, public-facing environment and participate in library activities as needed. The position is permanent and part-time (4 hours per rota) located in Hemel Hempstead, with a pro rata salary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and/or experience in a customer focussed environment.
• Understanding and application of good customer service principles.
• Demonstrates organised, methodical prioritisation of tasks.
• Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve service aims.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service, IT support, information services and resources to library users.
• Assist with ad hoc library activities as required.
• Be friendly and confident in a customer facing role.
• Use computer packages for logging/searching information and issue/return books.
• Stay organised and tidy shelves as part of daily tasks.
