Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking an LGV Driver Loader to join our Leicester team. You will drive LGV waste collection vehicles and help collect and empty bins, keeping streets clean and safe.

Working outdoors, you’ll lead a small crew, apply health and safety practices, and report defects. The role offers on-the-job training, a competitive hourly rate, and benefits through Biffa Perkz.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card.
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety.
• Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements.
• Ability to safely manoeuvre and operate a large rigid vehicle.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Good awareness of health & safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV waste collection vehicles and collect/empty bins, boxes, and bags from householders.
• Carry out street cleansing activities such as sweeping and litter picking.
• Work outdoors, using initiative and potentially leading a small team.

Job description

LGV Driver Loader

Location: Leicester LE4 2BN

Days of work: Tuesday to Friday (40 hours per week)

£15.68p/h

Working as part of a crew, you will drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collecting and emptying bins, boxes and bags from householders and carrying out street cleansing activities such as sweeping and litter picking.

This is a great job if you like to work using your own initiative and leading teams, in the outdoors, carrying out a role where you can make a difference to the local environment and communities.
