Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is recruiting for an LGV Driver Loader with an immediate start in Hastings. You'll drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collect and empty bins, and assist with street cleansing tasks as part of a crew.

Working Monday to Friday, 06:30–15:30, with an hourly rate of £16.67. This outdoor role offers autonomy, team leadership opportunities, and a chance to make a real difference in the community.

Qualifications

• A valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
• A valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• A good understanding of drivers’ hours and road transport legislation.
• A good level of health and safety awareness, with the ability to follow company procedures.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work part of a team.
• A flexible and reliable approach to work, with good timekeeping.
• The ability to carry out vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• A commitment to safe and responsible driving.
• Previous LGV Class 2 driving experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collecting and emptying bins, boxes and bags from householders and carrying out street cleansing activities.
• Work as part of a crew and lead teams when required.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Maintain safety and environmental standards during outdoor work.

Working as part of a crew, you will drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collecting and emptying bins, boxes and bags from householders and carrying out street cleansing activities such as sweeping and litter picking..
