Job summary

Biffa Waste Services in St Austell is seeking an LGV Driver Loader to join our waste collection crew. You will drive LGV vehicles, collect and empty bins, and participate in street cleansing activities, often outdoors, using your initiative and teamwork.

The role starts early, Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate of £17.35 and on-the-job training. A strong focus on health & safety and customer service is essential for success in this environment.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card.
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety.
• Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Health & safety procedures awareness.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV waste collection vehicles to collect and empty bins.
• Handle boxes and bags from householders.
• Carry out street cleansing duties including sweeping and litter picking.
• Work in a crew and lead teams when required.

LGV Driver Loader

Location: St Austell PL26 7DS
Days of work: Monday to Friday
Start and finish times: 06.30 to 15.00

Hourly Rate: £17.35

Working as part of a crew, you will drive LGV waste collection vehicles, collecting and emptying bins, boxes and bags from householders and carrying out street cleansing activities such as sweeping and litter picking.
