Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is hiring an LGV Driver for residential food waste collections at our Hailsham depot. You will collect and empty food waste caddy bins on local routes across multiple collections, working outdoors on a Monday–Friday schedule starting at 07:00.

The role requires a valid LGV/HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC, knowledge of hours/tachographs, and the ability to perform daily vehicle checks. You’ll be part of a supportive team with on-the-job training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card.
• Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety.
• Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and empty food waste caddy bins across local routes on a multi-collection basis.
• Work outdoors and use your own initiative as part of a team.
• Safely manoeuvre and operate a large rigid vehicle.

LGV Driver – Residential Food Waste Collections

Location: Hailsham Depot

Pay Rate: £16.67p/h

Shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00

New Food Waste Contract – Immediate & 2026 Start Dates Available

We’re looking for LGV Drivers to work as part of a crew to join our new Residential Food Waste Collections team.

You’ll be responsible for collecting and emptying food waste caddy bins across local routes on a multi-collection basis.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, using their own initiative and working as part of a team.
