Job summary

Birmingham Community Leisure Trust is seeking a proactive Leisure Operations Manager to oversee the Northfield Leisure Centre in Birmingham. The role requires leading daily operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and high-quality user experience while driving community wellbeing and service excellence.

You will be responsible for staff leadership, safety compliance, and delivering commercial growth through efficient operations and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management or a similar operational leadership role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• A proactive approach to health and safety with a good understanding of compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyse performance data and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the facility, ensuring it is safe, warm, clean, friendly and welcoming for all users.
• Support the General Manager in delivering commercial growth, performance targets and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational policies.
• Lead, motivate and develop Duty Manager teams, creating headroom for people to grow and achieve their potential.
• Use data and key performance indicators to monitor performance, identify opportunities and create impactful solutions.
• Develop strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and the wider community to support service excellence and future growth.

Location: Northfield Leisure Centre, Birmingham B31 2PD
Salary: up to £37,000 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week, flexible to work earlies, lates and weekends between 6am and 10.30pm.
