Job summary

Serco is recruiting on behalf of Birmingham Community Leisure Trust for a Leisure Operations Manager based at Northfield Leisure Centre, Birmingham. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with flexibility to cover early, late and weekend shifts from 6am to 10:30pm.

The role focuses on leading daily operations, driving safety, guest experience, community wellbeing and service excellence across the leisure facility. A positive difference to the local community is highlighted.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management or a similar operational leadership role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Proactive approach to health and safety with a good understanding of compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyse performance data and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the facility, ensuring it is safe, warm, clean, friendly and welcoming for all users.
• Support the General Manager in delivering commercial growth, performance targets and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational policies.
• Lead, motivate and develop Duty Manager teams, creating headroom for people to grow and achieve their potential.
• Use data and key performance indicators to monitor performance, identify opportunities and create impactful solutions.
• Develop strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and the wider community to support service excellence and future growth.
