Job summary

Birmingham Community Leisure Trust is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee the safe, welcoming operation of their leisure centre at Ladywood. You will lead colleagues across a range of activities, ensuring high service levels while maintaining safety and compliance.

The role focuses on day-to-day management, staff deployment, incident response, and delivering excellent customer experiences. This part-time position offers a benefits package and opportunities for development within the community

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role within a leisure, hospitality, sport or customer-focused environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and develop colleagues.
• A calm and confident approach when managing challenging situations and emergencies.
• A strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities and the importance of compliance.
• Organised and proactive, with excellent time management skills and a commitment to delivering high standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the leisure facility, ensuring activities are delivered safely and to a consistently high standard.
• Lead, motivate and support operational colleagues, ensuring effective deployment to meet the daily programme.
• Monitor the facility throughout the day, responding proactively to operational, customer service and safety requirements.
• Take control of incidents, accidents and emergency situations, ensuring the appropriate procedures are followed.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, site procedures and company policies, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Support excellent customer experiences by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service across the centre.

Salary: £11,421.27 per year plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Part-time 17.25 hours per week, working a mixture of earlies lates and weekends.
