Job summary

A leading compliance consultancy in Leicester is seeking an experienced Legionella Compliance Manager to oversee compliance and service delivery in their growing legionella department. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of legionella risk management, previous hands-on experience, and excellent time-management skills. This role includes developing policies, managing teams, and providing technical advice to clients.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hands-on legionella risk assessor/consultant role.
  • Ideally worked as a technical/compliance manager.
  • Ability to organise workload effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop policies and procedures related to ACoP L8 / HSG 274.
  • Deliver legionella training to clients.
  • Audit and manage teams of engineers/risk assessors.
  • Provide updates on changes to ACoP L8 / HSG 274 guidelines.
  • Liaise with clients and manage a portfolio.
  • Visit sites and identify risks.

  • Job Title: Legionella Compliance Manager

  • Salary / Benefits: £35k – £45k + Benefits

We are a well‑established national outfit, currently recruiting for an experienced legionella compliance manager to join our successful business. You will be overseeing the compliance/service delivery of the company’s growing legionella department, working closely with regional managers to ensure smooth running and success of the department. Candidates will hold a strong technical understanding of legionella risk and management, having had previous experience working in a hands‑on legionella risk assessor/consultant role. You will be responsible for overseeing legionella works, managing teams of risk assessors/engineers, and maintaining the company’s LCA accreditation through regular LCA audits. The company holds offices throughout the UK and is open to receiving applications from strong legionella compliance/service managers based beyond the field.

Consideration will be given to candidates with good access to the M1 and surrounding areas: Market Harborough, Corby, Melton Mowbray, Loughborough, Derby, Stoke on Trent, Beeston, Nottingham, Mansfield, Allerton, Coalville, Lichfield, Tamworth, Coventry, Lettering, Wellingborough, Royal Leamington Spa, Northampton.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Background in Legionella Risk Assessing and associated qualifications.
  • Ideally experience working as a technical/compliance manager within an established company.
  • Well versed in HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.
  • Excellent time‑management skills, able to organise workload in line with company/client requirements.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Able to communicate efficiently with colleagues and clients of all levels.
The Role
  • Developing policies and procedures in relation to ACoP L8 / HSG 274 guidelines.
  • Delivering legionella training to clients when required.
  • Overseeing, managing, and auditing a team of engineers/risk assessors on site, carrying out performance reviews.
  • Providing updates on changes to ACoP L8 / HSG 274 guidelines.
  • Efficiently liaising with and managing a mixed portfolio of clients.
  • Submitting quotations and tenders to clients.
  • Efficiently preparing for audits.
  • Visiting sites, ensuring that work is carried out in line with agreed timeframes.
  • Visiting sites and identifying risks, ensuring rectification in a timely manner.
  • Drawing up site‑specific schematic drawings, ensuring they are followed on site.
  • Liaising with clients, providing excellent technical advice and support.
  • Ensuring internal systems are updated efficiently.
  • Continuously monitoring control measures.
