Job description

Are you currently an in-house lawyer looking for a fresh opportunity?

About the Role

This is a varied, hands‑on role in a small, collaborative Legal team where you’ll be trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas and improve how we work. As our Legal Counsel, you will become a known and trusted partner within the business and act as a key point of contact for all legal enquiries, providing an approachable, informative and effective service.

Your main duties will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalising legal documentation
  • Managing, preparing and updating contracts, policies and procedures
  • Advising colleagues at all levels on commercial, contractual and operational matters (including employment law, compliance and risk issues).
  • Building trusted relationships across the business and becoming a go-to advisor for practical, solution‑focused guidance.

Please note we would consider individuals on a full time or part time (0.8 FTE) basis.

About You

We are looking for a UK qualified legal professional who has a proven track record in commercial and corporate law. Ideally you will have gained this experience in‑house, but we also welcome applications from those in private practice looking to make the move in‑house.

You must have:

  • Experience of advising on a variety of corporate and commercial legal matters
  • A commercial mindset with an understanding of how legal issues affect businesses
  • Strong background in commercial contracts
  • High attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
  • Confidence working independently but enjoy being part of a collaborative, supportive team.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Experience with, or an interest in, technology or regulated environments in the UK and US would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
