Legal Advisor (Full-Time / Part-Time)

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced in‑house legal advisor role, providing comprehensive legal support to Allianz Trade operations in the UK and Ireland, focusing on new product support, procurement, data protection and anti‑trust. Must be a UK qualified solicitor or barrister. Experience of working in a financial services sector is highly desirable.

Flexible working / part time is negotiable; return to work candidates are welcome.

Responsibilities

New product support – assisting commercial teams with product wordings and endorsements, implementation of new products, advising product development teams on legal implications and risks of new commercial initiatives.

Contracts – reviewing, negotiating and advising on supplier and partner contracts and NDAs.

Legislation and regulations – research, analysis and assistance to business functions with implementation of applicable legislation and Group wide policies and procedures, including but not limited to insurance regulations, data protection and anti‑trust matters. Working with Compliance Officer in analysing applicable regulations and handling regulatory matters.

Disputes – assisting in resolving third party complaints and contentious claims (with support of external counsel, where needed).

Assisting Company Secretary in ensuring that all filings are done in a timely manner.

Skills required
  • UK qualified barrister or solicitor (preferably 2+ PQE).
  • Sufficient seniority, gravitas and experience to persuade and influence senior management and business personnel.
  • Solid knowledge and experience of company laws, insurance law and regulations, preferably gained in house in an insurance or other financial services organisation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and drafting skills.
