A leading UK university in Swansea is looking for a motivated individual to contribute to the teaching and development of Actuarial Science programmes. You will advise students, supervise projects, and engage with the professional community while pursuing research excellence. The role offers opportunities for further academic advancement on the Education and Research Pathway. The ideal candidate has a strong research background and experience in teaching specialized modules.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated individual to contribute to teaching and further development of our Actuarial Science programmes and module portfolios, which are based in the Department of Mathematics, and to pursue an excellent research agenda.
The position will also entail advising students, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate projects and playing an administrative role in the running of the Department. This position is offered on the Education and Research Pathway (Research Strand).

The department is home to five research groups: Algebra, Geometry and Topology, Analysis and Nonlinear PDEs, Biomathematics, Computational Mathematics, and Probability. The department is based on the Bay Campus in the £31M purpose-built Computational Foundry, home of the School of Mathematics and Computer Science.

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
